Welcome to Les Arcs

Known as one of the most sought after ski resort areas in the French Alps, Les Arcs is about to open another busy winter season.
It’s been reported that forty per cent of all Britons still head down to France to ski. Indeed, most British ski fanatics opt for France every year and it’s easy to see why. The resorts provide excellent travel connections with regular flights, ferries and train links, accelerating the British skiers’ invasion.

Most French ski resorts are easy to reach on fast motorways from Calais not to mention the direct Eurostar links from St Pancras to Les Arcs. The special Eurostar ski train brings British skiers from London St Pancras station to the main ski resorts such as Les Arcs, Courchevel, Méribel or Val d’Isère every Saturday during the ski season. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that the Eurostar provides an affordable service as returns start from just £179.

Les Arcs is also more popular than other ski resorts due to the variety of its ski holiday industry, the outstanding hospitality and facilities. The ski domain is perfect for intermediate skiers who can enjoy plenty of long blue runs and some challenging reds. The resort also provides private and group lessons with English-speaking instructors and for the brave, British skiers can sign up with the Ecole de Ski Francais. No matter what you’re looking for there will be a great choice of French ski holidays available in accordance with your price range.

Les Arcs is not only famous for its high quality skiing and its convenient access, as it also boats a great cultural scene with its European film festival. The second edition of the ‘Festival du Cinema Europeen des Arcs’ will run from December 11th to 18th. This year, more than 60 independent films will be presented with a dozen in competition for the Crystal Arrow prize. The jury will be composed of 5 to 7 personalities from the world of European cinema, and chaired by the Dane Thomas Vinterberg, director of the film Festen.

Be part of the ‘Les Arcs’ 2010/11 ski season. Get on the slopes and … bon ski!
